St. Hyacinth Basilica, 3636 W. Wolfram in Chicago, was built in 1917-1921 to serve Polish parishioners. Mallin was hired by Fr. Stephen Kowalczyk, C.R. to decorate this church in 1930 and it took four years to complete. One of Mallin’s advertising brochures featured St. Hyacinth’s only with photos and descriptions of the work during and after completion.

In 1999-2000, the church interior was restored by Conrad Schmitt Studios of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The church still has a predominantly Polish congregation. A history of the church can be found at http://sthyacinthbasilica.org/about-2/
